What is zero-waste movement?
Zero-waste is a lifestyle as an environmental movement. In the past when we think of environmental protection, we might have said “Let’s recycle right”, and maybe that was all. However, the principles of zero waste is not the same as recycling we know. Generally, this movement focuses on reducing waste of trash. That means reducing the amount of waste that can be generated before purchasing. Then, how can we start to go zero-waste life?

How to start zero-waste in your daily life
Here are some ways that you can do with a little effort.
1. Bring your own bags (Such as Eco-friendly bag, no plastic bag)
We all know that using a plastic bag is really bad for environment. Then how about carrying a reusable bag? It’s easy to carry with you as they’re foldable and light. So just bring them when you do some groceries or buy something.
2.
Bring your own water bottle and
coffee cup
It sounds simple and easy, but it’s so impactful. You can save an average of 156 bottles annually as using your own bottles. So don’t be shy that you ask the coffee shop to fill up your reusable cup. Be proud of yourself!
3.
Don’t use plastic straw
Instead, Use reusable straws from stainless, bamboo, glass, etc.
4.
Use handkerchiefs instead of
tissues or napkins
Carry a few handkerchiefs. These little pieces are very useful to eliminate the waste of tissues and napkins.
5.
REFUSE! Just say “No thanks!”
We tend to say “Yes” unconsciously, but just practice saying “No
thanks” to flyers, plastic bags from any stores and also single-use items.

Better
than doing noting

By directly experiencing environmental
problems such as global warming, Environmental protection is essential, not
optional anymore. Of course, there is no 100% zero-waste life. Sometimes we can't help using some single-use products. Therefore, you don’t have to
feel any burden of doing zero waste. As I’ve mentioned above, there are many
things that we can start easily. So even little things you do are already better
than doing nothing.
